TORC is the sensational new Eau de Perfume from Boadicea the Victorious. Torc comes from the latin, ‘torqueo’ meaning – ‘twist’ and indeed this scent is inspired, not only by the golden torc that Queen Boadicea famously wore, but by it’s sister scent – Almas. The Roman historian Cassis Dio describes Queen Boadicea, the great warrior queen whose legend inspires our scents, as having “a great mass of bright red hair that fell to her knees, held by a torc of twisted gold that glinted as the sunlight played on the battlefield.” Wearing a torc was a symbol of strength and power; signifying nobility and status – Torc EDP captures this position with a sense of dignity and pride. Its opening notes of raspberry, bergamot and cassis tease the wearer with playful charm, swiftly making way for the steadfast heart notes. Here the heady tones of rose and jasmine lead us into a false sense of security before being captured by saffron, pepper and narcissus. The base brings with it a feeling of unmistakeable luxury. Amber, musk and sandalwood merging seamlessly together and washing like a luxe velvet over the skin. The buttery tones of vanilla delicately balanced with patchouli bring a rich and warm caress to Torc. Leaving the divine accords of leather and Oud to anchor the scent into the realm of perfection. It is Queen Boadicea’s symbol of fiery rebellion and independence which gives its name to the latest scent to embellish the Boadicea The Victorious range. Torc, which will be released in Harrods in London in May, is a stunning new fragrance that evokes the mystery of those ancient times.
